Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the ShieldOne application (“ShieldOne”, “the app”). By downloading or using ShieldOne, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use ShieldOne on Apple devices that you own or control, in accordance with the Apple Media Services Terms and these Terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the app except as permitted by law.
2. What ShieldOne is — and is not
ShieldOne is a DNS-level firewall. It blocks connections to domains that appear in its threat database and blocks or allows domains according to rules and modes you choose. ShieldOne is not antivirus software, does not scan files, and does not remove malware already present on a device. DNS-based filtering is inherently best-effort: new threats appear constantly, some apps use encrypted DNS that bypasses filtering, and no filter can block every malicious or unwanted domain. ShieldOne reduces risk but does not guarantee complete protection. You remain responsible for safe use of your device.
3. Subscriptions and purchases
ShieldOne offers a free tier and optional Premium access via auto-renewable subscriptions or a one-time Lifetime purchase, sold through Apple In-App Purchase:
- Monthly — billed each month.
- Yearly — billed each year.
- Lifetime — a single one-time payment.
Prices are shown in the app and may vary by region. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
Auto-renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period at the then-current price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
Managing and cancelling: You can manage or cancel a subscription anytime in your Apple Account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Refunds: Purchases are handled by Apple and are subject to Apple’s refund policies. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we do not control refund decisions.
4. Acceptable use
You agree to use ShieldOne only for lawful purposes and not to use it to circumvent security controls, evade lawful network policies, or interfere with others’ use of networks or services.
5. Availability
ShieldOne relies on Apple’s VPN and Network Extension features and can run only one VPN configuration at a time; it cannot operate alongside another active VPN or iCloud Private Relay. Certain networks (such as captive-portal Wi-Fi) may require you to pause protection temporarily. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
ShieldOne is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that ShieldOne will block any particular threat or meet your requirements.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or security breaches, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use ShieldOne. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the amount you paid for it in the twelve months preceding the claim.
8. Changes to the app and Terms
We may modify or discontinue features of ShieldOne and may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Effective date” above. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the app provider is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence apply.
