Questions
Is Painted free?
Yes. You can paint in Oil and export 15-second videos for free; free videos carry a small watermark. Painted Pro unlocks every style, 60-second and 4K videos, no watermark and print-ready files up to poster size. Pro is available as a subscription with a free trial, or as a one-time purchase.
Is this an AI filter?
No. Painted doesn't generate a new image. It plans thousands of real brushstrokes from your photo and paints them one by one, the way a painter would: sketch, block-in, layers, details. That's why you can watch it happen.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. All analysis and painting run on your iPhone. Painted has no servers that receive your photos.
Which iPhones are supported?
Any iPhone with iOS 16 or later. Newer iPhones paint and export faster.
How do I cancel a subscription?
In the Settings app on your iPhone: tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Painted. You can also open it from Painted's Settings screen. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid renewal.
Which languages does Painted speak?
English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Russian, Turkish, Dutch, Polish, Swedish, Indonesian, Thai and Vietnamese. It follows your iPhone's language, and you can change it in Settings.
