Privacy Policy
Effective Date: April 26, 2026Voice Message Reminders Alarm ("the App") is developed and published by ZenByte App Agency ("ZenByte", "we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the App. We take a privacy-first approach: the App does not require user accounts, does not collect email addresses, and stores all voice recordings exclusively on your device.
1. Information We Do NOT Collect
We want to be explicit about what we do not collect:
- Voice recordings or audio files of any kind
- Reminder titles, descriptions, or schedule content
- Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or physical addresses
- Location data (GPS, network-based, or otherwise)
- Advertising identifiers (Google Advertising ID is explicitly removed via
tools:node="remove"in our manifest) - Contacts, photos, camera data, or files outside the App
- Browsing history or data from other apps
2. Locally Stored Data
The following data is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to any external server:
- Voice recordings: Audio files you record for reminders and voice notes, stored in the App's private directory
- Reminder schedules: Times, repeat patterns, and active/inactive status
- Habit tracking data: Fire events, acknowledgements, streaks, and daily responses
- App preferences: Language, theme, alarm play count, Easy Mode, and other settings
- Voice notes: Journal entries and quick memos
This data is stored using SQLite (expo-sqlite) and AsyncStorage. If you uninstall the App or switch devices, your locally stored data — including all voice recordings — may be permanently lost. We recommend using the Export feature (Premium) to back up important recordings.
3. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with the following third-party services for analytics, crash reporting, and subscription management:

Payment details (credit card numbers, billing addresses) are handled exclusively by Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Neither ZenByte nor RevenueCat has access to your payment information.
4. Permissions We Request

We do not request permissions for: camera, contacts, location, phone, SMS, calendar, or external storage.
5. Data Retention
- Voice recordings & app data: Retained on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App
- Firebase Analytics: Anonymous data retained for up to 14 months, then automatically deleted by Google
- Sentry crash reports: Retained for 90 days, then automatically deleted
- RevenueCat subscription data: Retained for the duration of your subscription plus any legally required retention period
6. Children's Privacy
Voice Message Reminders Alarm is not directed at children under 13 years of age (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used the App in a way that provided personal data to us, please contact us at info@zenbyte.app and we will take steps to delete such information promptly.
The App may be used by children under parental supervision for receiving voice reminders (e.g., a parent recording medication reminders for a child). In this case, the parent is the data controller for the child's device.
7. Your Rights
7.1 European Economic Area, UK, Switzerland (GDPR)
If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:
- Right of Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data
- Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Right to Restriction: Request limitation of data processing
- Right to Data Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Right to Object: Object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Right to Withdraw Consent: At any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing
Since the vast majority of your data stays on your device, you already have direct control over it through the App's settings and your device's storage management.
7.2 California (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect and how it is used
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Opt out of the "sale" of personal information (we do not sell personal information)
- Non-discrimination for exercising your rights
7.3 Turkey (KVKK)
If you are in Turkey, your rights under the Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) No. 6698 include the right to learn, request correction, request deletion, and object to processing of your personal data. Contact us at info@zenbyte.app to exercise these rights.
8. International Data Transfers
Anonymous analytics data may be processed by Google (Firebase) and Sentry in the United States. Both services participate in or comply with EU-US Data Privacy Framework safeguards. Your voice recordings and reminder content never leave your device and are therefore not subject to international transfer.
9. Security Measures
- Voice recordings are protected by Android and iOS application sandboxing — other apps cannot access them
- All network communications (analytics, crash reports, subscription validation) use TLS/HTTPS encryption
- No user accounts means no passwords to breach
- We recommend keeping your device locked with a PIN, password, or biometric authentication
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page
- Notify you through an in-app notification when possible
Your continued use of the App after any changes indicates acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
