Privacy Policy
Effective October 9, 2026 · Applies to the DigiCam iOS app and this website.
NO ACCOUNT · NO ADS · NO TRACKING
FACES NEVER REDRAWN
DigiCam is built so that your photos and videos never leave your device unless you share them yourself. This policy explains the small amount of data the app does handle, why, and what you can do about it. In this policy, "DigiCam", "we" and "us" refer to the developer of the DigiCam app.
1. Your photos and videos
- Processed on device. All camera effects (flash, grain, color, frames, date stamps) are rendered on your iPhone's GPU. We have no servers that receive, process or store your photos or videos.
- No face editing. DigiCam uses on-device subject and depth detection only to decide where the simulated flash falls. It does not identify people, create face prints, or redraw faces or bodies, and this information is never stored or sent anywhere.
- Storage. Your roll is stored inside the app on your iPhone. If you turn on "Save to Photos", developed images are also added to your photo library. Deleting the app deletes its roll.
- Sharing. Photos only leave your device when you choose to share or export them through the iOS share sheet. The app or service you share to then handles them under its own policy.
2. Device permissions
DigiCam asks for each permission only when you use the feature that needs it. You can change them anytime in iOS Settings › DigiCam.
| Permission | Used for | Leaves your device? |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | Taking photos and videos | No |
| Microphone | Sound in camcorder videos | No |
| Photos (add or select) | Saving developed shots; choosing old photos to develop. With limited access, DigiCam only sees the photos you pick. | No |
| Location (optional, off by default) | Only if you turn on "Save location": writes where a photo was taken into that photo's metadata | No, unless you share a photo that contains it |
| Notifications (optional) | A single local reminder the day before a free trial ends | No (scheduled on your device) |
3. Data we collect
DigiCam has no accounts and never asks for your name, email or phone number. The app collects only the following, none of it linked to your identity:
Purchase information
When you buy or restore DigiCam Pro, Apple processes the payment. We receive the purchase status (which plan, trial status, renewal and expiry dates) through our subscription provider so the app can unlock Pro. We never receive your payment details or Apple Account email.
Anonymous usage statistics
Anonymous events such as "photo taken with camera X", "paywall shown" or "onboarding completed" help us understand which features work. They contain no photos, no location, no device identifiers used for tracking, and they are not linked to you.
Crash reports
If the app crashes or hits an error, a diagnostic report (app version, iOS version, device model, error and stack trace) may be sent so we can fix it. Reports are configured not to include personal information, screenshots or the screen layout, and file paths are removed before sending.
4. Service providers
We use a few providers to run the app. They process data only on our behalf and under their own privacy commitments:
| Provider | Purpose | Data |
|---|---|---|
| Apple (App Store) | Payments and subscriptions | Handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy |
| RevenueCat | Subscription status | Random app user ID, purchase receipts and status |
| TelemetryDeck | Anonymous usage statistics | Anonymous events, app and OS version |
| Sentry | Crash reporting | Crash and error reports as described above |
We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertisers.
5. Downloads and network requests
The app may download configuration (for example free-tier limits), new camera definitions and an optional depth model from our servers. These requests contain no personal data or photos. Like any internet request, they reveal your IP address to the server, which we use only to deliver the file and do not store with any identifier.
6. No tracking or advertising
DigiCam contains no ads and does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies. We do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), and the app will never ask for tracking permission.
7. Retention
- Photos, videos and settings: on your device until you delete them or the app.
- Purchase status: kept by our subscription provider while needed to provide Pro and to meet legal and accounting obligations.
- Anonymous statistics and crash reports: kept for up to 12 months, then deleted or aggregated.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK, the CCPA/CPRA in California, the KVKK in Türkiye or the LGPD in Brazil), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to your data protection authority.
Because DigiCam does not know who you are, most data we hold cannot be linked back to you. You can still contact us at the address below and we will help as far as we can. If your request includes the order ID from your App Store purchase receipt email, we can locate and delete the associated subscription record. Where we rely on legitimate interests (anonymous statistics and crash reports to keep the app working), you can object at any time.
You can also:
- Revoke camera, microphone, photo, location or notification access in iOS Settings.
- Turn off "Save location" or "Save to Photos" in DigiCam Settings.
- Delete all app data by deleting the app.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions.
9. Children
DigiCam is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International transfers
Our service providers may process the limited data described above in the United States, the European Union or other countries. Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
11. This website
This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts or fonts. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security, for a short period.
12. Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date above. For material changes we will give notice before they take effect.
