1. Introduction

SnoreDetect ("the App") is developed and published by SFMob ("we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the App collects, uses, and safeguards information when you use our services.

By downloading and using SnoreDetect, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Data We Collect

SnoreDetect is designed with a privacy-first approach. We minimize data collection to only what is necessary for the app to function.

3. Audio Processing

When you start a monitoring session, SnoreDetect accesses your device's microphone to analyze audio in real time. This processing works entirely on your device using native audio analysis:

Audio is processed in short frames (approximately 42 milliseconds each) and is never stored in raw form beyond a brief rolling buffer used for clip recording
The app extracts audio features (frequency spectrum, energy levels, zero-crossing rate) and discards the raw audio immediately
If you enable clip recording, short audio segments (approximately 6 seconds around each snore event) are saved locally on your device
No audio data is transmitted over the internet or to any external server

4. Data Storage & Retention

All data generated by SnoreDetect is stored locally on your device using an encrypted SQLite database and the iOS file system.

Automatic cleanup

Session data and audio clips older than 30 days are automatically deleted to prevent unnecessary storage usage. You can adjust this retention period in the app settings.

Manual deletion

You can delete individual sessions, all history, or all data at any time from within the app. Uninstalling the app removes all associated data from your device.

5. Third-Party Services

SnoreDetect uses the following third-party services:

Apple StoreKit - For processing in-app purchases and subscriptions. Purchase transactions are handled by Apple according to their privacy policy. We do not receive or store your payment information.

We do not use any analytics SDKs, advertising frameworks, crash reporting services, or social media integrations.

6. Permissions

SnoreDetect requests the following device permissions:

Microphone (required) - To monitor and detect snoring events during sleep sessions. Audio is processed on-device and is never uploaded or shared.

The app does not request access to your camera, contacts, location, photos, or any other device capabilities.

7. Children's Privacy

SnoreDetect is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the app does not collect personal identifiers or transmit data externally, there is no mechanism through which children's data could be gathered or stored remotely.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the data stored on your device:

All data remains on your device and is protected by iOS's built-in data protection and encryption
The app does not create any network connections for data transfer
Audio is processed in memory and discarded immediately after feature extraction
Session data is stored in the app's sandboxed container, inaccessible to other apps

9. Your Rights

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control:

Access - View all your data directly in the app at any time
Deletion - Delete individual sessions or all data from within the app
Portability - Your data is stored on your device and managed through your iOS backups
Revoke permissions - Revoke microphone access at any time through iOS Settings

10. Medical Disclaimer

SnoreDetect is a wellness tool designed to help you track and understand your snoring patterns. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition, including but not limited to sleep apnea or other sleep disorders.

If you have concerns about your snoring or sleep quality, please consult a qualified healthcare provider.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through an in-app notice or by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
