Our Privacy Commitment
Your data never leaves your device. LunaSafe is designed from the ground up to keep your personal health information completely private. We don't collect it, we don't see it, and we can't access it.
1. Information We Don't Collect
LunaSafe is fundamentally different from most apps. Here's what we do NOT collect:
- Period data: All cycle tracking, period dates, symptoms, and notes stay on your device
- Personal information: No names, emails, phone numbers, or addresses
- Location data: We never access or track your location
- Usage analytics: We don't track how you use the app
- Device information: No device IDs, IP addresses, or identifiers
- Advertising data: No ad tracking, no cookies, no third-party trackers
2. How Your Data is Stored
Free Version
Your period tracking data is stored locally on your device in a secure database. This data is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.
Premium Version
When you upgrade to Premium, your data is encrypted using AES-256 encryption with a key that only exists on your device. We cannot decrypt your data even if we wanted to.
Data Export
Premium users can export their data as PDF or JSON files. These exports are generated locally on your device and shared through your device's native sharing functionality. We never see or store these exports.
3. In-App Purchases
LunaSafe uses Apple's In-App Purchase system for the premium upgrade. Apple processes these transactions, and we only receive confirmation that a purchase was made. We never see:
- Your payment information
- Your Apple ID or email
- Your billing address
All payment information is handled securely by Apple according to their Privacy Policy.
4. Notifications
If you enable period reminders, notifications are scheduled locally on your device using iOS's notification system. These notifications:
- Are calculated entirely on your device
- Never leave your device
- Don't require any server communication
- Can be disabled at any time in settings
5. Panic Mode
Panic Mode (Premium feature) provides an extra layer of privacy protection:
- Your PIN is stored encrypted on your device
- We never have access to your PIN or can reset it
- The decoy screen is entirely local and doesn't communicate with any servers
- If you forget your PIN, you'll need to reinstall the app (which will delete all data)
6. No Accounts Required
LunaSafe works completely without user accounts. This means:
- No registration process
- No email verification
- No password to remember or reset
- Complete anonymity
The downside is that if you delete the app or lose your device, your data cannot be recovered. We recommend using the export feature (Premium) to create backups.
7. Third-Party Services
LunaSafe uses minimal third-party services, all of which respect your privacy:
Apple Services
- App Store: For app distribution (covered by Apple's Privacy Policy)
- In-App Purchases: For premium upgrades (no personal data shared with us)
- Local Notifications: For period reminders (entirely on-device)
No Analytics Services
We deliberately do not use any analytics services like Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, or similar tools. We don't track crashes, usage patterns, or user behavior.
8. Data Deletion
You have complete control over your data:
- Delete individual entries: Long-press any period entry in the calendar
- Clear all data: Use "Clear All Data" in Settings
- Uninstall the app: Deleting the app removes all data from your device
Since we never collect your data, there's nothing for us to delete on our end.
9. Children's Privacy
LunaSafe is designed for menstruating individuals of all ages. Since we don't collect any data, we comply with all children's privacy regulations including COPPA. No personal information is collected from anyone, regardless of age.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Since we don't collect email addresses, we can't notify you directly, so please check this page periodically.
Our commitment to privacy will never change: your data stays on your device, period.
11. International Users
LunaSafe is available worldwide. Since all data is stored locally on your device, there are no cross-border data transfers. Your data stays in your country, on your device.
12. Your Rights
Under privacy laws like GDPR and CCPA, you have certain rights regarding your personal data. However, since LunaSafe doesn't collect personal data, most of these rights don't apply in the traditional sense:
- Right to access: All your data is already accessible to you in the app
- Right to deletion: You can delete data anytime in Settings
- Right to portability: Premium users can export data as JSON/PDF
- Right to object: Not applicable since we don't process your data
13. Security
We take security seriously:
- Premium users' data is encrypted with AES-256
- The app uses iOS's secure storage APIs
- No data transmission means no interception risk
- Regular security updates via App Store
The most secure data is data that never leaves your device.
