Step Tracker ("the App", "we", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Data We Collect

The App may collect the following types of information:

• Health & Fitness Data: Step count, distance walked, calories burned, floors climbed, and active time. This data is read from Apple HealthKit with your explicit permission.
• Location Data: GPS coordinates during active workout sessions only, used to map your route. Location tracking is only active when you start a workout and stops when the workout ends.
• Profile Information: Age, gender, height, and weight that you voluntarily provide during onboarding. This is used to personalize calorie calculations and step goals.
• Preferences: Your selected language, distance unit (km/mi), daily step goal, and theme preferences.
• Subscription Status: Whether you have an active PRO subscription, stored locally for feature access.

3. How We Use Your Data

All data collected is used solely to provide and improve the App's functionality:

• Display your activity: Show your daily steps, distance, calories, and other metrics.
• Personalize your experience: Calculate recommended step goals, estimate calorie burn, and tailor insights.
• Track workouts: Record and display your workout routes, duration, and performance metrics.
• Show trends: Generate weekly, monthly, and yearly activity charts.

4. Data Storage & Security

All your personal data, health metrics, and workout records are stored locally on your device using encrypted storage (iOS Keychain for sensitive data, and a local database for activity records).

• We do not operate external servers that store your personal data.
• Your data is protected by your device's built-in security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID).
• Sensitive information such as subscription status is stored in the iOS Keychain, which provides hardware-level encryption.
• If you delete the App, all locally stored data is permanently removed from your device.

5. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

• Apple HealthKit: To read your health and fitness data. Data shared with HealthKit is governed by Apple's privacy policy. We only read data; we do not write to HealthKit.
• Apple StoreKit (In-App Purchases): To process subscription payments. Payment information is handled entirely by Apple and is never accessible to us.
• OpenStreetMap (via flutter_map): To display workout route maps. Map tile requests may include your general location but no personal information.

We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us so we can promptly delete it.

7. Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

• Access: All your data is visible within the App at any time.
• Deletion: You can delete all your data from Settings > Delete All Data. Alternatively, uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data.
• Permissions: You can revoke HealthKit or Location permissions at any time through iOS Settings. The App will continue to function with limited features.
• Portability: Your health data remains in Apple Health and is accessible by other apps you authorize.

8. Terms of Use

By downloading, installing, or using Step Tracker, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to circumvent any subscription or payment mechanisms.
• Distribute, sublicense, or make the App available to third parties.

Health Disclaimer

Accuracy

While we strive for accuracy, step counts, distance measurements, calorie calculations, and other metrics are estimates based on sensor data and may not be perfectly accurate. Factors such as device placement, walking surface, and individual gait can affect measurements.

Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App.

9. Subscriptions & Payments

Step Tracker offers the following subscription options:

• Weekly: $2.99/week, auto-renewing.
• Yearly: $29.99/year, auto-renewing.
• Lifetime: $49.99, one-time purchase.

Subscription terms:

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings.
• Any unused portion of a free trial period (if offered) will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• The Lifetime plan is a one-time purchase that grants permanent access to all PRO features.
