The short version: Breath Quit stores all your data on your device. We don't collect personal information, don't require accounts, and don't sell data to anyone. Your quit journey is private.
Breath Quit is developed by Gravity Code. This privacy policy explains how our mobile application ("Breath Quit" or "the App") handles your data.
If you have questions about this policy, you can reach us at support@gravitycode.app.
Breath Quit stores all user data locally on your device using the operating system's standard preferences storage. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly back up your phone through iCloud or similar system-level backups.
| Data | Purpose | Stored Where |
|---|---|---|
| Quit date | Calculate days smoke-free and recovery progress | Device only |
| Cigarettes per day | Calculate cigarettes avoided and cost savings | Device only |
| Price per pack | Calculate money saved | Device only |
| Primary reason for quitting | Display personalized motivation | Device only |
| Notification preference | Schedule daily reminders at your preferred time | Device only |
| Last app open date | Re-engagement notification scheduling | Device only |
| Onboarding completion flag | Remember that you've completed setup | Device only |
| Sent notification IDs | Avoid sending duplicate milestone notifications | Device only |
Breath Quit does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. The App does not:
The App includes analytics event stubs to understand how features are used (for example: whether users complete the onboarding flow, or how often the breathing exercise is used). These events are anonymous and contain no personal identifiers.
As of the current version, analytics are implemented as no-op stubs and no data is transmitted to any server. If we enable analytics in a future version, we will update this policy and the events will remain anonymous and aggregated.
| Event | Data Included |
|---|---|
| App opened | None |
| Onboarding completed | Quit date (no personal info) |
| Craving session started / completed / abandoned | Session duration in seconds |
| Paywall viewed | Source screen name |
| Purchase started / completed / failed | Product identifier (e.g., "yearly") |
| Lung recovery viewed | None |
| Mood check-in recorded | Mood category (e.g., "calm") |
Breath Quit offers optional premium subscriptions (monthly and yearly) to unlock guided breathing exercises. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store).
We do not receive, process, or store your payment details, credit card information, or billing address. We only receive a confirmation of your subscription status (active/expired) and the product identifier.
To manage or cancel your subscription:
Breath Quit requests permission to send local notifications. These are scheduled entirely on your device and are not sent through any external push notification service. They include:
You can disable notifications at any time through your device's Settings.
Breath Quit uses minimal third-party dependencies, none of which collect personal data:
We do not use third-party analytics SDKs (such as Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, or Amplitude), advertising networks, or social media SDKs.
Breath Quit is not directed at children under the age of 17. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. The App is designed for adults who are choosing to quit smoking.
Since all data is stored locally on your device:
Your data is protected by your device's built-in security (device passcode, biometric authentication, and encryption). Since data is stored locally using the operating system's standard preferences API, it benefits from the platform's native security measures.
No data is transmitted over the internet (except subscription verification through Apple/Google's secure APIs).
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights under data protection laws (such as GDPR or CCPA). Because Breath Quit does not collect personal data on any server, most data subject requests are satisfied by default:
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes (such as introducing server-side analytics), we will notify you through the App or by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
