PastMate is designed to deliver AI-based historical chat experiences with minimal personal data handling.

• We do not require sign-up or login for core functionality.
• We do not collect personal identifiers such as name, phone number, contacts, or address.
• PastMate does not request or use camera, photo library, microphone, contacts, or precise location permissions.
• We collect limited, non-personal diagnostic and analytics data to improve app stability and performance.
• In-app purchases are handled by platform providers; we do not process payment details directly.

The categories below describe information handled by the App.

2A. Personal Information

We do not collect personal information such as:

• Name, phone number, or address
• Contact lists
• Precise location data
• Photos, videos, or microphone recordings

2B. User Content (Prompts & Conversation Context)

PastMate uses your prompts and conversation context to generate requested AI responses.

• Prompt text and chat context may be processed to provide answers.
• PastMate does not access your device gallery, camera, or local media files.
• Do not include sensitive personal information in prompts.

2C. Analytics & Diagnostics (Non-Personal)

To improve reliability, performance, and user experience, the App collects limited, anonymized data, including:

• Chat usage events (for example, feature interaction and screen views)
• Crash reports and error logs
• Performance metrics (for example, app launch time and rendering performance)
• Device and operating system information (for example, device model and OS version)
• App version and technical identifiers

2C. Analytics Purpose

This data is collected via Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, and Sentry and is used solely to:

• Detect and fix crashes
• Improve performance and stability
• Understand general usage patterns

2D. AI Requests

PastMate uses AI infrastructure to generate historical chat responses.

• Your prompts and related context may be sent to OpenAI API to generate outputs.
• We do not use this data to identify you personally.
• Prompts are processed only to provide and improve requested functionality.

2E. Purchase & Subscription Information

If you purchase a subscription or lifetime access:

• Transactions are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
• Subscription management and entitlement validation may be handled by RevenueCat.
• We may receive limited, non-personal information such as subscription status (active, expired, cancelled), product identifiers, purchase and renewal events, and an anonymized identifier used to manage entitlements.
• We do not receive or store payment card details or billing information.

3. How We Use Information

We use collected information only to:

• Operate and maintain the App
• Deliver requested AI conversations and features
• Improve app performance, safety, and response quality
• Diagnose crashes and technical issues
• Validate purchases and unlock paid features
• Respond to support requests (only if you contact us)

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell user data. We may share limited data with trusted third-party service providers strictly for app operation:

• Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, and Sentry - analytics, crash reporting, and performance monitoring
• OpenAI API - AI response generation based on your prompts
• RevenueCat - subscription and entitlement management
• These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually required to protect it.

5. Data Retention

• Analytics and crash data is retained only as long as necessary to improve the App and resolve issues.
• PastMate does not retain camera/gallery media because these permissions are not requested and no media is collected.

6. Your Choices & Controls

• PastMate does not require camera/gallery permissions, so no media access control is needed for app use.
• You can limit analytics and diagnostics collection through platform-level privacy controls, where supported by your device or operating system.
• You can avoid sharing sensitive information by keeping prompts free of personal data.

7. Children's Privacy

PastMate is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited data processed by the App. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.
