Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 13, 2026 · Last updated: June 13, 2026

The short version. BrainUp keeps your training data — your Brain Score, game history, streaks and settings — on your device. We don’t require an account and don’t collect your name, email or contacts. We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used in aggregate, and Apple handles all payments. We don’t sell your data.

1. Who we are

BrainUp (“we”, “us”, the “App”) is a brain-training and entertainment app for iOS. This policy explains what information the App handles and how. By using BrainUp you agree to this policy.

2. Data we collect

We designed BrainUp to need as little personal data as possible. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, or precise location.

3. Data stored on your device

Your training history and preferences are stored locally on your device using on-device storage. This data does not leave your device through BrainUp except as described in the Analytics section. If you delete the App, this local data is removed with it. You can also erase it at any time inside the App via Profile → Settings → Reset Progress.

4. Analytics

We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how people use BrainUp so we can improve it — for example, which games are popular and where people drop off. Analytics data is about usage and your device, not about who you are. It may include a randomly generated analytics identifier, device and OS information, and in-app events (such as completing a game or viewing the paywall), along with a coarse “premium / free” property.

We do not use this data to build advertising profiles, and BrainUp does not show third-party ads. We do not enable Apple’s advertising identifier (IDFA), so no App Tracking Transparency tracking takes place. Google processes this data as described in the Firebase Privacy & Security documentation.

5. Purchases

BrainUp offers optional Premium subscriptions (weekly and monthly) and a one-time Lifetime purchase. All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store using your Apple ID. We never see or store your payment card details. The App only records whether your premium access is active so it can unlock features on your device. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; manage or cancel them in your App Store account settings.

6. Sharing & third parties

We do not sell your personal information. Data is shared only with the service providers that make the App work:

  • Google (Firebase Analytics) — aggregate usage and diagnostics.
  • Apple — purchases, subscription management and app distribution.

If you use the in-app “Share Score” feature, a score image is created on your device and handed to the iOS share sheet — you choose where, if anywhere, to send it.

7. Children

BrainUp is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will address it.

8. Your choices & rights

  • Reset your data: use Settings → Reset Progress to erase your scores, history and streaks.
  • Stop analytics: deleting the App stops all further analytics collection.
  • Access & deletion requests: because we don’t hold personal accounts, most data lives on your device. For any request relating to data we process, email us (see Contact).
  • Depending on where you live (e.g. EEA/UK or California), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data and to object to certain processing.

9. Retention & deletion

On-device data is kept until you reset progress or delete the App. Analytics data is retained by our analytics provider according to its standard retention settings.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. We’ll change the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the App or on this page.
